Planning for Germany

So I was in Germany last week. I put together a little to-do list of things I had to get done before I left the United States. Ignore the chicken scratch - that's not the point here. But if you're wondering, that first item says "Marcus", as in contact one of my freelance clients. Second is "Giants", as in buy a New York Giants gift (and maybe spit on it) for my boss's baby who is on the way. Third is "dentist", as in... dentist.

But the fourth one is the intriguing one - "German", as in... learn to speak German. This list was written a full two days in advance of the trip. Two days. Apparently I think learning a language is a piece of cake. Well, I didn't get around to learning German. So yes, while over there, I walked around with a confused look on my face the entire time.

Now that I'm looking at the list more intensely, I have to comment on the chicken scratch. What the hell happened to my handwriting? It was flawless back in grade school. Sort of. "Marcus" is barely legible. The A is not even close to being closed. Looks like I tried to write the C before the R at first. Then I covered up the C with the R, but then didn't put the C in its proper place, and just jumped right ahead to the U and S. Or... I attempted to make the first half of the U, the C.

Back to the drawing board.
